WTF no longer covers it.

Hi, my name is Karen and I live in a (possibly temporarily) free state in an authoritarian fascist republic. My president is a racist, bigoted, misogynist professed ephebophiliac who has also publicly expressed incestuous interest in his own daughter. My country’s main governing body is split between opposition appeasers and powerful Christofascist white supremacist men and their enabling woman counterparts who want to bludgeon the world into the shape that gives them the most power.

They have appointed blazingly incompetent sycophants, given them free rein to destroy the government, while the opposition makes sad noises as they capitulate. The opposition mumbles about cooperation and civility while the powerful take jackhammers and battering rams to the foundations of our nation’s future.

Just in the last few days, these rot-brained monsters have marched army troops into cities to act as beat cops, removed access to life-saving medicine from millions, declared constitutionally-protected (and Flag Code REQUIRED) flag-burning to be a crime punishable by jail time (!!!) and..and…and…there’s more, I know it, but the hits keep coming faster than I can keep up with.

MEANWHILE the Mideast is just a flaming mess that shows no signs of ever getting better. There is no justification for the atrocities committed by any polity. YES IT IS POSSIBLE FOR A WAR TO HAVE MORE THAN TWO SIDES, and YES, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ALL SIDES OF TO BE WRONG.

There’s wrong, there’s criminal, there’s atrocity, and there’s genocide. No one’s right, but some wrongs are wronger than others. Right now, there’s a side abusing the power of life or death, and that makes them the current wrongest. Even if they refuse to accept or acknowledge it.

There’s a word for ANY government that imprisons millions, bombs hospitals and aid stations, turns away outside food, water, and medical supplies at gunpoint, bulldozes homes and businesses to create refugees, herds the refugees into controlled spaces, and starves them.

I said three years ago that we were already on the cusp of a World War and just didn’t know it yet, and I got challenged to prove it. At the time I just waved at the news and said, “If you can’t see it, I don’t know how to explain to you that history doesn’t happen as history, but it’s right there to be seen in the news, whether you get it from Fox, blogosphere, MSNBC, or anywhere else.)

DAMN I hate being right.
