It’s my 100th post here!

It feels like only yesterday that I started the most recent version of a website blog. On the other hand, it feels like centuries since I first logged onto Usenet in the 90’s, and decades since I first set up a LiveJournal account. Oh, wait. that was decades ago. Ha. In any case, here we are, many thousands of posts into recording my life and thoughts, and 100 posts into the current edition of my online headspace.

Whatever shall I talk about? The usual, of course. Sharing whatever’s on my mind and in my life.

My brain is mush, to e quite honest. The week is only half done, and I am a full week’s worth of tired. Monday I made more progress on the Backyard Digging & Other Distractions project. (pics below)

I am pleased to report that this time I remembered the proper order of operations (work first, shower LATER.) Many loads of laundry and some cookie-baking also occurred. Then Tuesday was a body-doubled office day with friend Dex followed by library shift, and Wednesday—well. After taking Pippin to the vet, which was its own adventure, I did a ton of shopping to-do’s I’ve been putting off since June.

It took a solid 4 hours across 3 stores. And the sneaky part of shopping is that it isn’t done when I get home. It always takes forever and a half to get everything put away once I’m indoors from the car.

Many smart people sensibly, rationally take a short break before tackling the “put things away” part. I CANNOT. The hard & simple rule that keeps my life from dissolving into utter chaos is, NEVER PUT IT DOWN, ONLY PUT IT AWAY. If I stopped to rest, there would still be things in grocery bags waiting to get put away three months later. Which in the case of some groceries, would be a very bad thing. Ask me how I know.

ANYway. I got all the things into the proper places or close enough by to be unignorable, and then I did flop down for a belated lunch break before library shift 2 of the week.

I believe I shall celebrate teh accomplishings by taking tomorrow as a cookies & couch recovery day. The only thing I MUST do is consult the calendar with Spouseman, pick some dates for “Bring Your Own Whatever, The House Is Open” and send out a bcc email about to the test group.

My shady sitspot in the wilderness corner got weedy, overgrown, and buggy. Also, the path needed to be lowered. For a two-tier effect. And drainage.

Sunken path in progress, dead shrubberies removed, chairs revealed. I kept the volunteer tomato, though.

Pippin update: he is no longer wandering around like the droopy zombie God of Sniffles & Sneezes. His appetite is still off, and the antibiotics wreaked predictable havoc on his digestion, but he’s back to his usual routines and enjoying life. He got his annual vaccines at the last visit, the vet said his lungs sounded good, so the infection is gone or at least under control.

The latest episode in “I spoil my cat silly:” I serve him small scoops of his kibble soaked in hot water multiple times a day to tempt him into eating. He laps up the “gravy” first, then pushes the soggy bits of food around the floor. But he eats it all, so everyone walks away happy. Yes, it’d be easier to feed him canned food, but he won’t eat canned food, the little stinker.

Look at this cuteness. Of course I spoil him.

The very essence of relaxation.

This is the new Favorite Space. For now.

And that’s a good place to wrap for now. Until later!
