If You Want To
That’s the Alannnah Myles song playing in the office. Gold light is streaming in through the south windows, as it will on clear dats from now until April, while the sun is low enough to peek under the protection of the eaves as it crosses the sky. IT’ a good day for doing a lot of things. I could be working in the yard. I could’ve run errands. I will be doing a lot of writing later.
But I spent the morning playing my silly word-connect game because they dropped a new cute animal animation and I want to level it up to maximum before the gameplay window for doing so closes. I’m not a true obsessive game-completist, but when I can, I like to do it. J’regrette rein.
I know, it’s been a long while since I wrote. There’s a reason for that. LOTS of reasons, actually, so I’ll records a few. (Some are in the main blog.) IT can all be summed up in “WELL FUCK, THAT WAS A LOT OF LIFE STUFFED INTO TEN DAYS.”
The afternoon of my last Quickest, my tooth broke, AND THE DENTIST WAS CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY, so that was a Lost Weekend of the unfun kind. Then came the week of multiple tooth repair appointments+recovery scheduled around a Big Travel-involved Social Event, regular work, and getting my annual vaccinations. Add in the inevitable post-vaxx Lost Day of achy misery and preparation for family visit and I had exactly ZERO energy for doing much more than keeping Main Blog updated.
Brother and sister-in-law visited over the weekend, and it was a spectacular lowkey relaxing visit. Lots of catching up and chatting, some fun bad movie watching with my SiL, some tasty meals, a visit to the Botanic Garden with bonus bulb purchases, and lots of pet picture swapping. SiL has taken up knitting like half the world, it seems, and I am now the proud and happy new owner of a pair of soft, deep blue, fingerless typing gloves.
Which I am not wearing at this moment, but which I have thoroughly tested out. They are stylish and comfy. And I suppose I could’ve updated things yesterday, but ICE descended on my neighborhood (documented on the WTF blog) plus there was laundry to do and some other house chores that needed attention after the week mentioned above.
So now it’s late Monday afternoon, I’m feeling good about the week to come.
I’ve had my first All Crunchy Foods satisfying lunch in days, I’ve brushed the cat, I’m caught up on a lot of things, and I have projects to work on.
Onward.
