Summer pride at Herkes House.
Summer. Pride. I'm proud of the way things are progressing, yard-wise, house-wise & life-wise, and that means you get pretty pictures.
This year we have a lovely new pride flag, thanks to a website called Rad Pride. I also got a bunch of pencil cup-sized flags, but I haven't taken a picture of those yet.
Now, Spouseman is vocal in personal interaction but circumspect about public displays, and I've always respected his concerns. I think my right to get in people's faces stops at the line where it hurts my life partner, so I've never kicked up a fuss about avoiding progressive yard decor.
So back on May 27 this year when we saw a neighbor with a nice inclusive pride flag I was surprised when he said, "We should have one of those."
Friends, Rad Pride shipped within an hour of my order, and it was in my hands 2 days later.
Sorry, the comparison shots aren't exact matches. In my defense, it's hard to stand in exactly the same place 3 years apart. There are many marks on the sidewalk, but remembering which one I chose last time? How likely is that?
Anyway, I'm posting that comparison shot because it's summer, it's Pride Month, and we have a pride flag, so I am feeling house proud as well as out & proud.
June is also Controlled Descent's book birthday, and I couldn't be more proud of my first-published, too. Just so you know. Want longer descriptions? Click here. Or click a book cover for the buy link.
